Business Analyst.

We are seeking a dynamic and tech-savvy Business Analyst to join our team, reporting directly to the Head of Technology. This role is crucial in leveraging technology to analyse business requirements, identify trends, and provide strategic insights that will inform and drive our business decisions. The successful candidate will be a key collaborator with cross-functional teams and play a pivotal role in shaping our technology-driven strategies. The successful candidate will demonstrate an appetite to take on responsibility for the milestones of the Technology Team and will be able to manage the delivery of work to the internal customers of the division.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Technology and key stakeholders to align technology strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Lead the development of technology-driven strategic initiatives, providing a roadmap for short-term and long-term goals.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and impact assessments to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Conduct environmental scans and market analyses to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to set strategic goals and define success metrics.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic planning framework, ensuring alignment with the organisation's mission and vision.
  • Facilitate strategic planning sessions and workshops to gather insights and foster cross-functional collaboration.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of strategic initiatives, adjusting plans as needed based on performance metrics and changing business conditions.
  • Provide regular updates to executive leadership on the status and impact of strategic initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of innovation by identifying and promoting technology-driven opportunities for business growth.
  • Work closely with various business units to meticulously gather and document functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of business needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define technology requirements and translate them into clear, actionable items for the technology team.
  • Ensure that technology solutions align with business objectives and contribute to the achievement of strategic goals.
  • Develop and maintain a requirements traceability matrix to link business needs with corresponding technology solutions.
  • Identify technology-driven opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains across different departments.
  • Propose and collaborate on technology solutions to streamline workflows, enhancing overall operational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate extensively with diverse departments and technology teams to foster a comprehensive understanding of business processes and requirements.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to bridge the gap between business units and technology, ensuring alignment and understanding on both sides.
  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and the technology team, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  • Utilise advanced data analysis tools and techniques to conduct comprehensive analysis, identifying trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
  • Transform complex data sets into meaningful business metrics and key performance indicators, leveraging technology for efficiency.
  • Utilise technology tools to prepare and present detailed reports, dashboards, and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Effectively communicate complex analytical findings in a clear, concise, and visually compelling manner.

Qualifications and Work Experience

  • 5 Years of experience in Business Analysis, 2 years experience in leading a team.
  • Honours degree in Informatics, Information Systems, Management or related field; Masters degree preferred.
  • A proven track record of delivering high quality solutions on time and within budget, which meet business objectives as scoped.
  • Have worked in a demanding environment and are able to track and drive delivery against milestones for a team of professionals.
  • Conducted requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders to elicit and document business needs.
  • Analysed complex data sets to identify trends and insights, providing actionable recommendations to improve business processes.
  • Collaborated with cross-functional teams to develop and implement solutions, ensuring alignment with project objectives and stakeholder expectations.
  • Facilitated user acceptance testing (UAT) and provided post-implementation support to ensure successful adoption of new systems and processes.
  • Presented findings and recommendations to senior management, translating technical concepts into non-technical language.
